Meryl Streep, Sir Ringo Starr, Kate Moss, Rita Ora and Daniel Radcliffe are among 50 celebrities who are supporting Sightsavers's Specs Appeal this Christmas, which raises money to help carry out eye tests in some of the world's poorest countries.

Each celebrity has donated a pair of glasses to be auctioned on eBay, to raise money for the charity. The auction, which is live now and can be viewed via http://www.ebay.com/rpp/specsappeal, ends December 5 and Sir Sir Tony Robinson, who donated his reading glasses, commented 'I want to give someone a chance to see more clearly and look as cool in my glasses as I did'.
